Idah Nabayiga, representing the National Resistance Movement (NRM), has been declared the winner of the Kalangala District Woman Member of Parliament seat. This declaration comes after the Electoral Commission (EC) successfully completed the polling, vote counting, and tallying processes.

The Returning Officer for Kalangala District, Ronald Agaba, made the official announcement, confirming Nabayiga’s victory in accordance with Uganda’s electoral laws.

The EC affirmed that the election was conducted within the established legal framework, ensuring adherence to procedures governing electoral processes in the country.

Following the declaration, the Electoral Commission extended congratulations to the newly elected MP. They also expressed appreciation for the contributions of all stakeholders involved in the electoral exercise.

“The Electoral Commission congratulates the successful candidate and appreciates the voters, candidates, political parties, election officials, security agencies, observers, the media and all stakeholders who participated in the electoral process,” the EC stated.
