Ecobank Uganda has welcomed David Frederick Kisitu Mpanga as the new Chairperson of its Board of Directors. The appointment, confirmed this week, brings a wealth of legal and corporate governance expertise to the financial institution.
Mpanga, a Senior Partner and founder of AF Mpanga Advocates, is a respected figure in Uganda’s legal landscape. His professional background includes significant experience in dispute resolution, regulatory compliance, and corporate advisory services.
Having begun his legal career in the United Kingdom, Mpanga returned to Uganda in 1998, eventually establishing his own law firm. He holds an LLB (Hons) from the University of Exeter and has advised numerous local and international clients on complex commercial matters and corporate governance.
The bank anticipates that Mpanga’s leadership will be instrumental in steering Ecobank Uganda through its next phase of growth and transformation. His appointment is seen as a strategic move to enhance institutional oversight and drive innovation in a competitive banking sector.
