Mercy Hinneh, a 30-year-old Liberian-born American, is redefining philanthropy. Unlike traditional benefactors often perceived as elderly and wealthy, Hinneh, founder of the God Blueprint Foundation, leverages her persuasive spirit and demonstrated commitment to mobilize resources for those in need.

Her journey began with modest personal savings, but through consistent, impactful work in orphanages, schools, and hospitals, she garnered the trust of strangers. This trust has enabled her to connect donors with causes, transforming her foundation into a conduit for global aid. Officially registered as a non-profit in the US, her organization taps into funding opportunities from various churches, foundations, and government programs.

Hinneh’s work extends beyond financial contributions. She actively engages with individuals in prisons, hospitals, and hospices, offering comfort, listening without judgment, and providing hope. She views those she serves as “brothers or sisters,” fostering a deep sense of connection.

During a recent visit to Uganda, Hinneh and her network raised $500 (approximately Shs1.8 million) to provide essential supplies like posho, beans, rice, and sugar to a care home at the Uganda Cancer Institute. This initial support is part of a larger plan to send more aid, including beds, clothing, and educational materials.

Hinneh humbly refrains from calling herself a philanthropist, preferring to be seen as someone who “collect[s] money on behalf of the public to do donations.” Her overarching goal is simple: to travel, connect with people globally, and provide opportunities for education, employment, and second chances.

Her ongoing tour across Africa, which includes visits to Tanzania, Zambia, Rwanda, Kenya, and Uganda, carries a powerful message: significant impact can be achieved without vast personal wealth, requiring only vision, a voice, and the collective trust of a community. Hinneh’s model highlights that true philanthropy lies in inspiring others to give.
