Special Prayers Held for Detained Former Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago

A special prayer gathering took place at the home of former Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago in Wakaliga on Tuesday. The event brought together family members, friends, and supporters who are increasingly worried about Lukwago’s well-being.

Lukwago is currently detained at Luzira Prison, and concerns about his health have been mounting. The prayer session was led by Sheikh Ahmada Mugenyi Kasaliko, who encouraged those present to remain dedicated in their prayers and support for the former mayor.

Sheikh Kasaliko voiced his concerns about Lukwago’s condition, urging divine intervention. “We have entrusted him to Allah’s mercy, and we continue praying that he regains his health and strength despite the difficulties he is facing,” the Sheikh stated.

He further emphasized the need for unity and compassion during challenging times, irrespective of political affiliations. “This is a time for people to come together regardless of their political differences. We pray that Allah grants Erias Lukwago healing, patience and a speedy recovery,” he added.

Attendees expressed hope for Lukwago’s improved health and that he receives necessary medical attention. The prayers concluded with supplications for his recovery, peace for his family, and guidance for those involved in his case. Lukwago remains in detention after being denied bail, though an order was made for specialized treatment at Mulago.
