The Office of the National Chairman (ONC) continues its nationwide empowerment tour, recently making a stop in Nakaseke Town Council. During the visit, Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo, the ONC’s National Coordinator, engaged with individuals who have benefited from presidential initiatives aimed at fostering wealth creation.

Residents presented compelling testimonies illustrating how government support has significantly uplifted their livelihoods. These programs, spearheaded by President Yoweri Museveni through the ONC, are credited with boosting household incomes, generating employment, and strengthening local economies.

Balwanyi Jane, a poultry farmer, shared how an initial grant of 200 chickens from the ONC has grown to over 400 birds, despite a temporary setback due to family medical expenses. She expressed gratitude for the empowerment, noting its positive impact on her family’s income, but also highlighted the persistent issue of water shortages in the area which affects her farming.

Another beneficiary, Michael Senabulya, detailed his successful transition into a multi-faceted agricultural entrepreneur. Starting with poultry and coffee farming, he has expanded into fish and tomato cultivation, earning substantial monthly income. Senabulya, who attributes his success to ONC support, including initial poultry stock and feed, also pointed out the need for more fish and poultry feed to sustain his growing ventures.

The tour also highlighted the success of Nabitaka Ruth and Nantambi Rose, who turned a single sewing machine into a thriving tailoring business. They now supply school uniforms and garments, employing six people and training young individuals. They are seeking an embroidery machine to enhance their competitiveness.

Namyalo lauded the beneficiaries’ commitment and encouraged sustained effort in wealth creation. She pledged to work with relevant government bodies like Operation Wealth Creation and the Ministry of Agriculture to address challenges such as inadequate supplies and infrastructure, ensuring ONC programs continue to foster transformative economic growth across the nation.
