Erling Haaland continued his impressive scoring form, netting two goals to guide Norway to a 3-2 win against Senegal and secure a spot in the World Cup’s knockout stage. This marks Haaland’s second consecutive match with a brace, solidifying his importance to the Norwegian squad.

Norway started strongly, creating early pressure with four consecutive corner kicks but were initially repelled by Senegal’s defense and a spectacular save from goalkeeper Edouard Mendy. The deadlock was broken in the 43rd minute by substitute Marcus Holmgren Pedersen, who capitalized on a defensive error. Haaland doubled the lead just after halftime with a goal stemming from a slip, showcasing his remarkable composure.

Senegal fought back, with Ismaila Sarr pulling a goal back in the 53rd minute after holding off two defenders. However, Norway quickly reasserted their dominance. Patrick Berg set up Haaland for his second of the match in the 58th minute, restoring a two-goal cushion.

Despite Sarr scoring again in stoppage time to narrow the score to 3-2, Norway held on for the victory. The win, coupled with their previous result, places Norway alongside France at the top of Group I heading into their final group match. Senegal, meanwhile, faces an uphill battle to advance in the tournament.
