Major General Joseph Ssemwanga, the Deputy Commander of the Land Force, has expressed his approval of the UPDF’s ongoing infrastructure initiatives, viewing them as crucial investments that bolster soldier welfare and enhance military operations.

During recent site visits to the Artillery Division Headquarters in Masindi and the 1st Infantry Division Headquarters in Kakiri, Maj Gen Ssemwanga reviewed several construction endeavors. He commended the diligence of both the leadership and the technical teams responsible for these projects.

In Masindi, the inspection included three housing blocks, nearing completion at 95%, and four renovation projects underway at 40%. Maj Gen Ssemwanga highlighted the importance of regular inspections to ensure projects adhere to plans, meet standards, and are delivered on schedule. He praised the Artillery Division’s leadership under Maj Gen Daniel Kakono for their effective supervision.

At the Kakiri base, Maj Gen Ssemwanga examined newly built quarter guard facilities and staff quarters. Here, he stressed the paramount importance of accountability and judicious resource management for all development funds. He urged project managers to ensure that allocated finances are used strictly for their intended purposes, referencing General Muhoozi’s emphasis on transparency within the UPDF.

Maj Gen Ssemwanga acknowledged the high quality of the completed facilities, noting their positive impact on accommodation and service delivery for the troops. The inspections were attended by various senior officers and members of divisional construction committees, underscoring the collaborative effort involved.
