Rotarian Paddy Mwesigye has officially assumed the role of the fourth president for the Rotary Club of Kabale City. He takes over from Rtn Dr Robert Mugarura during a vibrant installation ceremony held on June 20, 2026, at the White Horse Inn in Kabale Municipality.
The event saw a notable gathering of guests, including Emeritus Bishop George Bagamuhunda, Kabale District Woman MP Enid Origumisiriza, fellow Rotarians, Rotaractors, and members of the community.
Upon taking office, Mwesigye outlined his key priorities, emphasizing a commitment to initiatives that enhance child welfare and bolster maternal health services. He believes that investing in these areas is fundamental for nurturing healthier and more prosperous communities.
Mwesigye stated his intention to focus on strengthening Rotary’s humanitarian impact through strategic partnerships, active community outreach, and the implementation of sustainable projects designed for direct community benefit. A significant project on his agenda is the completion of a new facility for Mukokye Health Centre II in Maziba Sub-county, aiming to relocate services from the current deteriorating building.
He also highlighted the ongoing issue of water scarcity in the Mukokye area and called for governmental support to establish a dependable source of clean water for the residents.
Representing the guest of honor, MP Enid Origumisiriza commended Rotary’s contributions to local communities, noting how the organization effectively complements government efforts. She particularly applauded Mwesigye’s focus on maternal and child health, describing it as a critical sector needing sustained attention.
Chief guest Rtn Aggrey Kamukama encouraged Mwesigye to lead with professionalism and to foster unity within the club. He urged members to collaborate effectively with their new leader to advance projects that serve both the club and the broader community, emphasizing that strong teamwork and dedication are vital for the club’s success in addressing community challenges.
