Japan delivered a stellar performance on Saturday, securing a resounding 4-0 victory against Tunisia in the landmark 1,000th match of the World Cup. This commanding win positions Japan strongly for progression to the knockout stages.

Daichi Kamada set the tone early, finding the back of the net within the first four minutes after a precise low cross from Keito Nakamura. Ayase Ueda extended Japan’s advantage in the 30th minute with a powerful shot into the far corner, putting Tunisia under immense pressure.

The dominance continued in the second half. Ueda turned provider, setting up Junya Ito for Japan’s third goal with a well-placed lofted pass. He then completed his brace, heading home a deep cross to seal the impressive 4-0 scoreline. This achievement marks Japan as the first Asian nation to score four goals in a single World Cup fixture.

Tunisia, who were also dealing with a coaching change and a previous heavy defeat, found themselves eliminated from the competition. This marks the third team, alongside Haiti and Turkey, to be sent home. Japan now joins the Netherlands at the top of Group F with four points, setting up an exciting finale to the group stage.
