During a recent Holy Mass at St Mary’s Cathedral Lubaga, the congregation received a powerful message encouraging them to remain steadfast in their faith and to face life’s challenges with resilience. The sermon, delivered by Deacon Edrine Kangave, emphasized the importance of Christians willingly carrying their individual crosses through difficult times rather than focusing solely on external appearances.

Deacon Kangave urged believers to cultivate a deeper spiritual life by embracing love, practicing repentance, and engaging in self-examination. He stressed that true renewal stems from within the heart, calling for a cleansing of inner thoughts and actions over superficial outward displays.

The deacon also issued a caution against lifestyles that lead individuals away from their relationship with God, imploring them to remain close to Him. He noted that some have drifted due to their choices and urged the faithful to actively work towards maintaining their connection.

In a timely message ahead of Father’s Day, fathers were congratulated and encouraged not to lose hope when facing hardships. The call was for continued trust in God amidst adversity.

Attendees at the Mass reportedly found the message relevant and timely, expressing a desire for Ugandans to integrate these teachings into their daily lives. Deacon Kangave is slated for ordination to the priesthood in August 2026.
