Ugandan businessman Yasin Bakaluba Sekimwanyi has initiated legal proceedings in Canada, filing a defamation suit against TikToker Sharon Mutesi, widely recognized as “Senga Acid.” The suit, filed in Ontario, Canada, seeks a total of approximately Shs2.7 billion (CAD 1 million) in damages.
Bakaluba’s claim centers on a series of videos Mutesi allegedly published on her TikTok account, “Professor Senga Acid,” over several days starting in April 2026. Court documents indicate these videos were accessible worldwide, including within Ontario.
The businessman contends that the content was false and damaging, portraying him in a negative light. Specifically, Bakaluba alleges the videos suggested he engaged in criminal behavior, including fraud, theft, and robbery. He also claims the content depicted him as violent and a purveyor of threats.
Further allegations in the lawsuit include depictions of sexual misconduct, with the videos reportedly suggesting unlawful and inappropriate sexual behavior, including relations with young women and minors, and acts amounting to sexual assault and non-consensual physical contact.
Bakaluba, who has business interests in real estate and investment promotion in Kampala, argues that these alleged publications have caused significant harm to his reputation and commercial standing. Mutesi, who is based in Canada and known for her commentary on Ugandan public figures, has previously faced controversy. The legal filings state that she must respond within strict timelines, or judgment could be entered against her.
The case is proceeding in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, unless a settlement is reached or the suit is otherwise resolved. The lawsuit highlights the increasing legal battles stemming from online content with international reach.
