After a prolonged period of animosity, Ugandan singer Kalifah Aganaga and music promoter Abbey Musinguzi, widely known as Abitex, have officially reconciled.
The resolution occurred during a press conference for fellow artist Ray G, where Aganaga took the opportunity to extend a public apology to Abitex.
“I am here to apologize to promoter Abitex for my past mistakes. I wronged you, but I am sorry,” Aganaga stated to the assembled press. He emphasized the importance of unity within the music industry for its overall growth and sustainability.
“I ask all of us to leave that behind and move forward together in harmony. Unity is the best thing that can happen to our industry, and we must prioritize it,” he added, calling for a united front among stakeholders.
Abitex responded positively to Aganaga’s candid apology, accepting the olive branch offered. Demonstrating his commitment to the reconciliation, Abitex also pledged his support for Aganaga’s upcoming “Nasanga Festival,” slated to take place in August.
This reconciliation marks a significant moment for the artists and promoters involved, potentially paving the way for more collaborative efforts within the Ugandan music scene.
