The Church of Uganda has officially announced that this year’s Provincial Annual Youth and Students Convention (PAYSCO) will be held in Mbale. The four-day event is scheduled to take place from December 7th to 10th, 2026, at Mbale Secondary School, located within the Diocese of Mbale.

This significant gathering is a longstanding tradition for the Church of Uganda, held annually in December as per a resolution from the 22nd Provincial Assembly. The primary objective of PAYSCO is to nurture and equip young leaders. This initiative seeks to prepare them for impactful service and mission work, empowering them to reach their peers in educational institutions, communities, and across the nation.

This year’s convention is expected to draw more than 3,000 youth leaders from all 39 dioceses that constitute the Province of the Church of Uganda. The program will feature a blend of spiritual development, leadership training, essential life skills, and modules on economic empowerment.

The convention will operate under the theme, “Anchored in Christ as Leaders for Unity, Stability & Peace,” drawing inspiration from Ephesians 2:14–17. This theme underscores the central role of faith in fostering positive societal contributions among the youth.

Dioceses have been urged to ensure their youth delegates are registered for the event. The convention fee has been set at Shs 80,000 per delegate. Payments should be directed to Pearl Bank Account Number 4090000000005, under the title COU–Provincial Youth & Students Ministry.

In a statement, Provincial Secretary Rev. Canon William Ongeng emphasized the critical importance of investing in youth ministry, stating that such support is vital for the sustained growth of both the Church and the nation at large.
