The Stanbic Entebbe Match-Play Golf Challenge has eliminated its last female pairing, with mother and daughter Edrae Kagombe and Evelyne Atukunda falling to Ronald Pulle and Michael Monne. The duo of Pulle and Monne showcased a dominant performance, securing a commanding 5&4 victory in their quarterfinal match, marking the day’s most significant win on the par-71 course.

Pulle, playing at handicap 15, and Monne, at handicap 17, demonstrated strong teamwork and communication, having partnered for about a year. “The round was great. We started off well and kept the momentum,” Monne stated, highlighting their early lead and consistent performance.

Their victory propels them to the semifinals, where they are set to face Vincent Katutsi and Sam Kacungira. Katutsi and Kacungira earned their spot by defeating the 2025 runners-up, Henry Nsubuga and Picole Lukyamuzi, by 2-up.

Another semifinal pairing will feature Tony Kisadha and Richard Mwami against Brian Manyindo and Mark Musinguzi. Kisadha and Mwami advanced after a 4&2 win over Stephen P. Ojambo and Herbert Kamuntu, while Manyindo and Musinguzi secured their place with a 4&3 victory against Bob Drani and Geoffrey Byamugisha.

The semi-finals are scheduled for July 11, with Pulle and Monne aiming to continue their successful streak towards the ultimate goal of competing in Dubai. The tournament, sponsored by Stanbic Bank and hosted by Entebbe Golf Club, continues to provide a platform for golfers to hone their match-play skills.
