Thousands of residents in Hoima District are set to benefit from improved educational and healthcare services following the official handover of five infrastructure projects valued at Shs650 million. The commissioned facilities include new classroom blocks at several primary schools, staff quarters at a health center, and improved sanitation at a local market.

The projects were officially inaugurated on April 14, 2026, with leadership from Deputy Resident District Commissioner Christopher Aine and Hoima District Chairperson Uthuman Mugisha Kadiri. Officials highlighted that these investments are strategically focused on addressing critical infrastructure gaps that have long hampered service delivery, particularly in rural areas.

Specifically, the Shs650 million investment includes staff quarters at Kiseke Health Centre II (Shs220 million), a three-classroom block at Kapapi Primary School (Shs177 million), a lined pit latrine at Kigorobya Town Council Market (Shs21 million), a two-classroom block at Bukona Primary School (Shs120 million), and another two-classroom block at Kitemba Primary School (Shs112 million).

District Chairperson Kadiri emphasized the district’s commitment to creating better learning environments and improving access to quality education and healthcare. He noted that the new facilities are expected to alleviate classroom congestion, improve sanitation, and provide much-needed accommodation for health workers, thereby boosting staff morale and response times.

Head teachers and community members expressed optimism that the new classrooms will lead to reduced overcrowding and improved concentration among pupils. Similarly, health workers anticipate that the new accommodation will ensure more consistent and timely medical attention for patients. Deputy RDC Aine urged school administrators to utilize the new facilities effectively to enhance educational standards and encouraged the community to protect public infrastructure from vandalism.

This initiative aligns with broader government efforts to improve service delivery through targeted investments in essential public infrastructure, underscoring the importance of these developments for community welfare and economic progress in Hoima District.
