The Ugandan music fraternity is in mourning following the reported death of veteran musician Master Parrot, whose real name was David Sifayo.

Master Parrot, a foundational member of the celebrated Firebase Crew, was involved in a fatal road accident on the Kampala Northern Bypass in Masanafu on Monday evening. He had previously collaborated with notable figures in the industry such as Bobi Wine, Sizzaman, Buchaman, Toolman, and Weatherman.

Eyewitnesses reported that the musician was hit by a fast-moving vehicle as he attempted to navigate the busy road. Some accounts suggest he appeared disoriented prior to the incident, though claims of intoxication remain unconfirmed by authorities.

Police are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. Emergency services and law enforcement arrived at the scene shortly after the accident occurred. His body was subsequently transported to Mulago National Referral Hospital for further examination as the investigation proceeds.

Master Parrot gained significant recognition in the late 1990s and early 2000s for his distinctive dancehall and reggae music, becoming a familiar name to many Ugandan music enthusiasts.
