President Donald Trump is in “excellent health” and fit to perform his presidential duties, according to a memo from his physician, Dr. Sean Barbabella. The assessment followed a recent examination at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. The memo indicated that the 79-year-old president is experiencing “slight lower leg swelling” that has improved since last year, along with “benign” hand bruising.
Dr. Barbabella described the hand bruising as common and consistent with frequent handshaking, especially given Trump’s use of aspirin for cardiovascular prevention. The physician’s report confirmed strong cardiac, pulmonary, and neurological function, with normal mental status. Preventive health advice, including diet guidance, low-dose aspirin recommendation, increased physical activity, and continued weight loss, was provided.
The president’s height was noted as 6 feet 3 inches and his weight as 238 pounds.
