Authorities in Nakapiripirit district have taken two women into custody as prime suspects in the brutal mob killing of Police Constable Richard Nokrach. The officer, who was attached to Namalu police station, was reportedly attacked and killed on May 26, 2026.

The arrested women have been identified as Sylvia Napeyok, 29, and Beatrice Eji, 46. Both are residents of Nalait B Village within Kawach sub-county.

Initial reports suggest the constable was on his way back to Namalu police station from the Moru Ajore checkpoint when he was involved in a traffic incident. He allegedly knocked and injured an elderly man near Nalait trading centre in the evening. This incident is believed to have incited the mob that subsequently attacked and killed Constable Nokrach.

The arrests of Napeyok and Eji followed the apprehension of two other individuals, Lochuge Jacob and Lazarus Abura, who were taken into custody shortly after the fatal attack. These initial suspects reportedly implicated the two women in the mob action.

Kassim Kakembo, the officer-in-charge at Namalu police station, confirmed that investigations are actively continuing. He stated that police are still searching for at least two more individuals believed to have played a role in Constable Nokrach’s death.

Kakembo emphasized the police commitment to holding all perpetrators accountable for the “heinous act” and commended the investigative team for their prompt actions. He also appealed to the public for continued cooperation with law enforcement.

Police efforts are ongoing to locate the remaining suspects as investigators work to piece together the full details of the incident and ensure all those involved face justice.
