Official parliamentary vehicles that were previously stationed at the Nakasero residence of former Speaker Annet Anita Among have been officially recalled. The fleet, comprising high-end utility vehicles, security escorts, and lead cars, was returned to the Parliament parking lot today.

A senior parliamentary official, speaking anonymously, confirmed that the withdrawal is a standard procedure following the recent transition in legislative leadership. “Official transport assets are tied to the office, not the individual,” the official stated, emphasizing that the fleet must now be centralized, audited, and reassigned based on current institutional requirements.

The vehicles were reportedly seen being driven in a convoy back to parliamentary precincts, where they are undergoing routine maintenance inspections. This action aligns with a broader push for institutional accountability and efficient management of public expenditures within the legislature.

The Parliamentary Commission is currently reviewing its asset register to ensure all government property is accounted for. The recalled vehicles will remain in a central pool until the new House leadership is elected. Representatives for the former Speaker and the Director of Communication and Public Affairs were not immediately available for comment, though sources indicate that the asset handover paperwork has been completed.

This development follows recent political shifts within the legislature, where emphasis has been increasingly placed on institutional accountability and the streamlining of public expenditures. The Parliamentary Commission, which oversees the welfare and logistics of the house, is currently reviewing its asset register to ensure all government-purchased property is accounted for.
