In a significant development, the Uganda Police Force has announced the recovery of all six laptop computers that were reportedly stolen from the Bank of Uganda’s Kampala Road offices.

The theft, which is believed to have occurred on the night of May 3, 2026, has seen a swift response from law enforcement.

Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, confirmed that initial investigations led to the arrest of two suspects and the recovery of two laptops. Further diligent police work resulted in the apprehension of two more individuals, leading to the recovery of the remaining four devices.

This brings the total number of stolen laptops returned to six, providing a full resolution to the initial incident.

The four suspects arrested have been identified as Kule Boaz Micheal, Kabuya Ramathan alias Rama, Lubangakene Isaac Izoo, and Oedo Jorem Jude. All recovered laptops are currently secured as exhibits as the investigation continues.

Authorities indicated that the suspects are expected to face charges including office breaking, theft, receiving stolen property, and retaining stolen property. They are slated to appear in court once legal procedures are finalized.
