A multi-agency task force, comprising the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (CID), Defence Intelligence and Security (DIS), Police Crime Intelligence, Special Forces Command (SFC), and the Directorate of Forensic Services (DFS), is spearheading the investigation into former Parliament Speaker Anita Among. The probe, targeting suspected corruption, illicit enrichment, and money laundering, has seen operatives conduct searches on properties linked to Ms. Among in key Kampala areas and at Parliament.

The investigation focuses on property acquisitions, financial transactions, and digital evidence. This coordinated effort follows sanctions placed on Ms. Among by the United States and the United Kingdom due to corruption allegations.

Leading the overall investigation is Maj. Tom Magambo, Director of CID. A former intelligence officer with extensive training, CID under Magambo is responsible for searches, statement recording, exhibit recovery, and consolidating evidence.

Maj. Gen. Richard Otto, Chief of Defence Intelligence and Security, is tasked with gathering intelligence both domestically and internationally, verifying overseas assets, and monitoring activities related to the probe.

Maj. Gen. Christopher Ddamulira, Director of Police Crime Intelligence, is providing crucial intelligence gathering and surveillance. His unit is analyzing property ownership, financial dealings, and communication records, while also assisting in surveillance and phone tracking.

The Special Forces Command (SFC), led by Maj. Gen. David Mugisha, played a critical role in securing search locations and overseeing the recovery and protection of exhibits during the operations.

Andrew Mubiru, Acting Director of the Directorate of Forensic Services (DFS), heads the scientific and digital analysis of evidence. The DFS team is examining electronic devices, analyzing cyber communications, and scrutinizing documents such as land titles and financial records.

Investigations are ongoing, with potential for further searches and interrogations as evidence is analyzed. The final report will be submitted to President Museveni for further guidance.
