The Public Relations Association of Uganda (PRAU) is embarking on an ambitious project to establish a permanent physical home for its members. This initiative aims to raise Shs 800 million, a significant sum intended to create a dedicated space for the country’s public relations community.

The “Run for the PRAU Home” event, coinciding with the Association’s Golden Jubilee, served as the launchpad for this fundraising drive. The PRAU governing council demonstrated its commitment by kick-starting the campaign with an initial contribution of Shs 100 million.

According to PRAU Vice President Ronald Beinomugisha, the run transcends mere physical activity, acting as a unifying force and a statement of the profession’s future vision. “This run is more than a fitness event. It is a statement of our unity and vision for the future of our Association,” he stated, emphasizing that the funds will contribute to a home that symbolizes the growth and commitment of the PR profession in Uganda.

The upcoming 5km and 10km run is scheduled for May 22, 2026, starting from Sidelines Bar and Restaurant in Kololo. Participation packages are priced at Shs 40,000 for paid-up PRAU members and Shs 50,000 for non-members.

These efforts are part of broader Golden Jubilee celebrations, which also saw the introduction of digital membership IDs at the association’s March 2026 annual general meeting. All proceeds from the event, including registration fees, sponsorships, and donations, will be directed towards the PRAU Home project.
