Kabojja International School celebrated a significant milestone with the official launch of its new 25-meter, eight-lane swimming pool. This investment underscores the school’s dedication to a holistic educational approach, integrating sports as a crucial component of student development.

The facility boasts high standards and is designed to support elite training, evidenced by the presence of national team coach Muzafaru Muwanguzi, who will collaborate with the school’s coaches to optimize the program. Muwanguzi highlighted the importance of quality facilities like this, noting that they address a critical gap in Uganda and bring the nation closer to achieving peak athletic performance.

Paralympian Husnah Kukundakwe, an inspirational figure and scholarship student at Kabojja, officially inaugurated the pool. She commended the school for upholding its values and investing in sports, stating that the new pool is a testament to their commitment.

Principal Sam Turya emphasized that the pool aligns with the school’s mission to produce well-rounded students through its British Cambridge and International Baccalaureate curricula. The school has also formalized a four-year partnership with Uganda Aquatics (UAq), aiming to develop swimming talent and potentially introduce water polo.

UAq president Moses Mwase expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, seeing the pool as a vital asset for advancing swimming in Uganda. The new facility will host the upcoming third round of the National Swimming League, attracting over 500 swimmers from various clubs across different age groups.
