Chelsea Football Club appears to be on the verge of naming Enzo Maresca as their next manager.
The Italian coach has emerged as the frontrunner after a successful period with Leicester City, whom he guided to Championship promotion in the recently concluded season.
Maresca’s attractive style of play and tactical acumen are believed to have won over the Stamford Bridge hierarchy. Prior to his stint at Leicester, Maresca also served as an assistant to Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
The appointment would signal a new direction for the Blues, who have been seeking a permanent successor to Mauricio Pochettino.
