SC Villa is nearing the end of an 11-year wait for a Uganda Cup final appearance. The Jogoos, who last lifted the trophy in 2015, have placed a strong emphasis on this competition this season, especially after their league title aspirations faltered.

Currently, Villa has a significant 2-0 advantage over URA from the first leg of their semifinal clash, thanks to goals from Najib Yiga and an own goal by Moses Aliro. This lead was secured after a disciplined performance at Nakivubo Stadium.

The team’s recent form has been encouraging, with a 3-1 league victory against Mbarara City boosting their confidence and league standing. Their home record at Kadiba Stadium is also a strong point, remaining unbeaten throughout the season.

For URA, the task ahead is daunting. They require a minimum 3-0 victory to advance, a difficult feat considering Villa’s strong home form. Despite URA’s inconsistent league performance, they are known to possess experienced players capable of rising to the occasion.

However, SC Villa appears to have the momentum and the cohesive unit needed to secure their place in the Uganda Cup final.
