Vipers SC’s pursuit of the Startimes Uganda Premier League title faced another setback as they were held to a goalless draw by Police FC. This marks Vipers’ third consecutive draw, accumulating only 11 points from a possible 21 in their last seven matches.

Despite this stutter, Vipers remain on track to clinch the title, with their closest rivals struggling to keep pace. However, the team will feel aggrieved by two disallowed goals against Police, including a rebound that was controversially ruled out for offside involving Taddeo Lwanga.

In a separate fixture, Kitara FC’s title ambitions were effectively ended after a 3-2 loss to Express FC. Kitara fielded a weakened lineup, seemingly prioritizing their upcoming Uganda Cup semifinal against Vipers. Express capitalized, securing a crucial win that leaves Kitara seven points behind Vipers with only two games remaining.

KCCA FC, currently in second place, has an opportunity to close the gap to three points if they secure maximum points against UPDF. The league remains intriguing as the season approaches its climax, with Vipers’ recent form offering a glimmer of hope to their competitors.
