Paris Saint-Germain face Bayern Munich in the Champions League semi-final first leg on Tuesday, pitting two of Europe’s most potent attacking sides against each other.

Luis Enrique, the PSG manager, acknowledges Bayern’s remarkable consistency, having lost just twice all season—once in the Bundesliga, which they clinched, and once in Europe. Yet, he insists no team matches his squad’s quality.

“Bayern are a bit ahead in terms of losses, but what we’ve shown as a team puts us right up there. No team is better than us,” Enrique told reporters.

Three of the final four teams—PSG, Bayern, and Arsenal—lead their domestic leagues. PSG and Atletico Madrid navigated playoffs after missing the league phase top eight, unlike Bayern and Arsenal, but PSG scored 12 goals in the knockout stages, with Bayern netting 16.

Enrique highlights the finalists’ defensive strength too, calling them Europe’s best. Despite Bayern’s dangerous wingers Luis Diaz and Michael Olise, PSG’s approach remains unchanged, relying on full-backs Achraf Hakimi and Nuno Mendes to balance attack and defense.

As defending champions—who triumphed last season despite a poor league phase—PSG lead Ligue 1 by six points and crave more success. “Last year was great; we made history. Now, we’re hungry for more,” Enrique said, crediting the competition’s magic for fueling the team.
