Manchester City announced that defender John Stones will leave the club upon the expiration of his contract this season, marking the end of a remarkable decade at the Etihad.

The 31-year-old Englishman joined from Everton in 2016 and has featured in 293 matches for City. Injuries have restricted him to just 16 appearances this campaign.

Stones played a pivotal role in City’s English football supremacy, collecting six Premier League trophies, one Champions League, two FA Cups, three League Cups, and a FIFA Club World Cup.

Reflecting on Instagram, Stones described City as his lifelong home, recounting his growth from a young player to a fulfilled family man and champion. He highlighted achieving dreams beyond imagination and the strong bonds formed.

Meanwhile, City stays in the Premier League title race, sitting second with 70 points—three behind Arsenal but with a match in hand—and remains FA Cup contenders.
