Rwandan Driver and Two Ugandans Remanded for Stealing Shs 98.5M in Motorcycle Parts

Buganda Road Chief Magistrate’s Court remanded three men, including a Rwandan national, over the theft of motorcycle spare parts valued at Shs 98.5 million.
The accused are Kalyango Gonzaga, 33, a storekeeper from Kitezi in Wakiso District; Robert Sseggawa, 37, a driver and Rwandan residing in Mulago; and Deo Muwanika, 32, a loader from Kayunga, Wakiso. They face charges of theft and conspiracy to commit a felony.
Court proceedings revealed that between July 2025 and January 2026, the trio allegedly stole the parts from Shamba Complex in Nabugabo village, Kampala. The stolen items belong to Bosco Sserwadda.
Grade One Magistrate Rophine Achayo read the charges to the suspects, who were not presented before the trial magistrate. They all pleaded not guilty.
Senior State Attorney Grace Amy told the court that investigations continue. The men were remanded to Luzira Prison and are due back on May 13 for an update.
