The Serena 63 Golf Series is set to kick off on June 20, 2026, at the Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort & Spa in Kigo, Uganda. Named after the course’s record-low competitive score of 63 by Kenyan Dismas Indiza in 2019, the tournament spans 28 weeks and welcomes both club members and the public.

Organizers have redesigned the series based on feedback to enhance accessibility. Players enjoy flat green fees of $35 (Shs130,000) per round via a special tournament card on non-competition days. The format allows rounds at any time, requiring six for quarterly prizes on September 12 and 18 for the November 14 finale.

Lake Victoria Serena golf director Theo Van Rooyen emphasized the goal of opening the sport to everyone, noting public weekday rates typically hit $45 and weekends $55. Weekly leaderboards and an Order of Merit system track progress, with more play boosting winning chances under Stableford full-handicap rules.

I&M Bank CEO Robin Bairstow highlighted the partnership’s focus on customer passions, aligning with Serena’s status as East Africa’s top golf destination. Registration costs a one-time Shs63,000, with top prizes including $2,500 annual memberships, stays in Mombasa, Nairobi, Kigali, and Zanzibar, plus merchandise.

The launch featured winners of a par-3 challenge, including Brenda Ajidiru and Annet Nakiyaga, alongside bank executives and Serena captain John Muchiri.
