SC Villa delivered a commanding 4-0 victory over Buhimba United Saints at the Fufa Kadiba Ground, propelling them to second in the Uganda Premier League standings. Patrick Kakande struck early in the second minute, assisted by Frank Ssebuufu, followed by Najib Yiga’s brace and a late finish from substitute Charles Lwanga. Villa now sit on 51 points, level with Kitara and KCCA.

Kitara kept their title hopes alive with a thrilling 2-1 win away at Lugazi. Patrick Kaddu headed them ahead from a Gadaffi Wahab free-kick, but Paul Busolo equalized late. Muhammad Shaban, in his first goal since joining mid-season, slid home the winner in the 90th minute after a flick-on from Edson Agondeze. The match saw controversy, including a denied penalty for Lugazi and a red card to captain Richard Ayiko.

KCCA suffered a stunning 1-0 defeat to league-bottom Calvary at the Midigo playground in Yumbe. Lawrence Olaboro’s goal ended KCCA’s title push, leaving them on 51 points but fourth due to head-to-head rules—four points behind Vipers, who host UPPC next. Calvary’s unbeaten run of four games has them on 13 points, closing the gap in the relegation fight.

Other results included Maroons 3-1 Police, Express 0-2 BUL, NEC 1-0 Mbarara City, and UPDF 0-0 URA. Buhimba’s loss marks eight straight defeats, leaving them second-bottom with 15 points.
