Chelsea Edge Leeds 1-0 to Secure FA Cup Final Spot Against Man City

Chelsea defeated Leeds United 1-0 in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley, thanks to a first-half header from Enzo Fernandez, setting up a final clash with Manchester City next month. The win comes amid internal turmoil following the sacking of former coach Liam Rosenior. Chelsea advanced to the FA Cup final after a narrow 1-0 victory over Leeds United at Wembley on Sunday. Enzo Fernandez scored the decisive goal in the 23rd minute, nodding in a cross from Pedro Neto after slipping past defenders.

The Argentine midfielder had faced suspension earlier this month by ex-coach Liam Rosenior and club officials over an interview hinting at his dissatisfaction and desire to leave for Spain. This incident occurred during Chelsea’s poor run of five straight Premier League losses.

Chelsea’s American owners, BlueCo, dismissed Rosenior last Wednesday after a 3-0 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion. Assistant Calum McFarlane now leads the team until season’s end.

Despite their struggles, Chelsea showed strong resolve, controlling the first half and defending stoutly in the second. Leeds, managed by Daniel Farke, pushed forward with tactical changes but failed to score.

Goalkeeper Robert Sanchez made key saves against Brenden Aaronson and Anton Stach. “It’s amazing. The boys reacted in the way they should have,” Sanchez said post-match.

Manchester City, fresh off a 2-1 win over Southampton and chasing the Premier League title, await Chelsea in the final on May 16.
