Bishop Diocese Bishop, Dr. Prof. Grace Lubaale, addressed civil servants and local leaders in Kamuli District during his inaugural pastoral visit on Sunday, emphasizing that public service is a divine calling demanding discipline, faithfulness, and accountability.

He urged them to lead purposeful lives, building legacies through good leadership and integrity rather than abusing positions, which harms future generations.

The Bishop highlighted issues undermining service delivery, including internal disputes, office politics, rumour-mongering, unhealthy promotion rivalries, absenteeism, corruption, and negligence. He criticized workers who strike without accounting for lost time and advised staying in one’s lane to avoid confusion, infighting, favouritism, and poor time management.

Additionally, Bishop Lubaale called for environmental stewardship, urging civil servants to plant trees and care for nature as entrusted by God to fight climate change.

Kamuli Chief Administrative Officer Ben Lawrence Marley described the message as timely, renewing staff commitment to accountability. Municipal Clerk Stanislaus Mangasa noted it boosted ethical awareness and motivation among workers.
