Kishuro Primary School in Isingiro district has received a significant infrastructure boost worth Shs600m. The project, launched with a groundbreaking ceremony on Saturday, includes construction of five classroom blocks, a computer laboratory, and a library to improve learning conditions.

The 64-year-old institution has struggled with declining enrollment due to inadequate facilities. School management chairperson Mr Jumba Adinan noted that the current 364 learners reflect dropping numbers, but the five-month project offers hope for attracting more students back.

Dr Ibrahim Matovu, leading the donor delegation from House of Zakat, Iqra Foundation, and Salam Charity, emphasized their mission to support underserved communities. A district survey identified Kishuro as a priority due to its poor state deterring learners.

State Minister for Animal Husbandry, Rtd Lt Col Bright Rwamirama, who officiated, praised faith-based organizations for complementing government efforts in education, health, and water services.

This development is expected to enhance performance and renew optimism among teachers and pupils.
