Detective Corporal Faizal Galandi Found Dead in Dokolo Police Barracks

A 41-year-old detective corporal at Dokolo Central Police Station was discovered lifeless in his barracks room on Friday evening after colleagues forced entry due to concerns over his absence. Detective Corporal Faizal Galandi, aged 41 and stationed at Dokolo Central Police Station, was found dead in his room at Dokolo Police Barracks.

Colleagues grew worried when he was not seen throughout Friday and broke into his quarters that evening, discovering his body.

North Kyoga regional police spokesperson SP Patrick Jimmy Okema confirmed that the scene was processed and documented. The body was taken to Lira Regional Referral Hospital for a postmortem examination, and statements from witnesses are being collected as inquiries continue.

Galandi had been dealing with an eye condition and other health problems, recently receiving treatment at Mulago National Referral Hospital.

Police expressed condolences to his family and promised further updates soon.
