Inter Milan stands on the brink of securing the Serie A crown this weekend. Under manager Cristian Chivu, the team holds a commanding 12-point lead with only five matches remaining.
The leaders face Torino away on Sunday. To lift the Scudetto immediately, Inter must outperform both Napoli and AC Milan over the weekend. Napoli host struggling Cremonese on Friday, while Milan welcome in-form Juventus on Sunday evening.
Chivu’s side kept their domestic double dream alive midweek, staging a thrilling 3-2 comeback against Como to book a Coppa Italia final spot. This marks a strong rebound from last season’s empty trophy cabinet, with Chivu—part of Inter’s 2010 treble team—delivering results.
Rivals are faltering. Antonio Conte’s Napoli, the defending champions, recently lost at home to Lazio and drew with Parma. AC Milan have also struggled, suffering a 3-0 home defeat to Udinese before a narrow win over Verona.
