Four Suspects Detained in Mukono Doctor's Murder Case
Police in Mukono have apprehended four individuals linked to the fatal attack on radiography specialist Peter Mubiru, who was bludgeoned by robbers in Bagala Zone. Authorities in Mukono District have taken four suspects into custody over the killing of Peter Mubiru, a specialist radiographer at Happy Doctors Hospital in Seeta, Mukono Municipality.
The incident occurred on April 19, 2026, around 7pm in Bagala Zone, Goma Division. Assailants on a motorcycle struck Mubiru on the head with a paver, causing severe injuries. He was rushed to Mulago National Referral Hospital but passed away despite treatment.
Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigire confirmed the arrests of Abubaker Mususwa, Joshua Olowo, George Muyanja, and Umar Basibu. “Investigations are ongoing to clarify the attack’s circumstances and identify any other involved parties,” he stated.
Forensic analysis and a post-mortem report are being compiled to bolster the prosecution. The suspects face charges of murder and aggravated robbery once probes conclude.
The doctor’s death has ignited public anger in Mukono, with locals decrying rising crime by gangs targeting isolated walkers.
