Jane Namagembe’s role as Chief Operations Officer at Acorn’s Group of International Schools keeps four campuses running smoothly—three in Kampala and one in Kigali, Rwanda. Her days are unpredictable, starting with attendance checks or diving into urgent issues like meal planning or infrastructure problems.
From her desk, she monitors real-time data: student numbers at Kigali, lunch menus at Bunga, and alerts from Kisaasi. Technology bridges the gaps, allowing seamless coordination without constant travel.
Her career kicked off in 2015 as an intern at the Inter-Religious Council of Uganda, followed by roles in procurement at SolarAid, administration at Asigma Advisory and VFS Global, and her mother’s Lungujja Progressive Schools. A Business Administration degree in procurement and logistics forms the foundation of her expertise.
Namagembe aligns policies, procurement, finance, and daily operations across sites, adapting to local regulations in Uganda and stricter Rwandan rules. She values precision, mirroring her CEO’s detail-oriented style in this demanding service industry.
Education requires constant vigilance—dealing with children, parents, and staff demands integrity, teamwork, and passion. She champions women in leadership, advising persistence and excellence.
