The StarTimes Uganda Premier League title race intensifies as leaders Vipers and challengers KCCA tackle key fixtures on Tuesday, with the finish line looming.
Vipers, sitting on 52 points, travel to Hoima to play relegation-battling Buhimba United Saints at Butema Royal Park. After back-to-back draws against Kitara and SC Villa, coach Ivan Minnaert’s side must secure a win to rebuild their lead. Despite their strong record of 15 wins and a +28 goal difference, any slip against the second-from-bottom team could fuel doubts.
KCCA, trailing by four points on 48, face Entebbe UPPC at Bugonga. Fresh off a 1-0 victory over Kitara, they confront a fifth-placed side led by ex-KCCA coach Abdallah Mubiru, who already beat them 1-0 earlier this season. A win here keeps the pressure on Vipers; a loss risks widening the gap.
Looking ahead, KCCA meet Calvary next, Vipers host UPPC, culminating in a blockbuster clash at Lugogo on April 29. Third-placed Kitara (47 points) host Calvary, while SC Villa (45 points) visit Lugazi on Wednesday.
Other Tuesday matches at 4pm include Bul vs. UPDF, Mbarara City vs. Maroons, Police vs. URA, and Express vs. NEC at 8pm.
