The second leg of the Uganda Aquatics Swimming League took place at Kampala Parents School on April 11 and 12, featuring intense races and standout performances that tightened the points race.
In the open 11 and Over girls’ 400m freestyle, Jaguar’s Zara Mbanga, 14, led with 4:51.53, closely followed by Gators’ Paloma Kirabo at 4:56.70. Mbanga also took first in the 400m IM (5:29.64), with Kirabo second (5:49.44). Sailfish’s Arthur Mwase topped the boys’ 400m free in 4:20.33 but placed second in the IM behind Dolphins’ Pendo Kaumi’s winning 5:07.25.
10 and Under Highlights Blue Whales’ Aya Adams leads girls with 114.5 points, winning 50m fly (34.70) and 100m back (1:22.69). Aqua Akii’s Tzion Tamale tops boys at 110 points after his 50m fly victory (35.30).
11-12 Years Aquatic Academy’s Mushirah Nabatanzi holds 146 points for girls, excelling in 50m fly and 200m breast. Imara’s Kristian Bwisho dominates boys with 157 points, sweeping multiple events.
13-14 Years Gliders’ Tyrah Muganzi rules girls’ fly events and leads with 137 points. Imara’s Arthur Nsubuga edges boys’ standings at 128 points, strong in backstroke and fly.
15-16 Years Dolphins’ Theresa Kikambi leads girls (132 points), while Torpedoes’ Jonathan Kaweesa commands boys with 152 points across fly, free, and breaststroke.
17 and Over AAK’s Rahmah Nakasule tops girls at 144 points with fly and back wins. Dolphins’ Pendo Kaumi holds slim boys’ lead at 111 points, challenged by Aqua Akii’s Tendo Mukalazi in 50m fly (25.23).
Gators’ Jayson Aronda impressed in 100m back, going under 1:10.00, highlighting the depth in senior races.
