She Corporate are in pole position to win the Finance Trust Bank Fufa Women Super League (FTBFWSL) title, holding a slim two-point lead over Kawempe Muslim with only three games remaining in the 22-match season.
Moureen Nankinga netted the decisive goal in their 1-0 away win against already-relegated Olila High School, coached by Belyse Ininahazwe. The 2022 champions now face St. Noa Girls and She Maroons at home, sandwiched around an away clash with Uganda Martyrs High School (UMHS) Lubaga.
Kawempe Muslim, trailing on 45 points, host Rines SS and Olila, with a tricky trip to Kampala Queens (KQ) in between. Their title hopes took a hit after a 1-0 loss to Makerere University, where former bench player Halima Kampi scored the winner. Kampi, offloaded by Kawempe at the season’s start, has shone for Makerere, who climbed to sixth with 24 points.
Kampala Queens, third with 32 points, risk dropping further after consecutive 2-0 defeats—to She Corporate and Amus College (goals by Zabinah Nambozo). UMHS (28 points, one game in hand) and St. Noa (27 points, two in hand) loom large.
Mid-table sides Rines and Lady Doves played out a 0-0 draw, securing safety from relegation.
Recent results: Makerere 1-0 Kawempe Muslim; Olila 0-1 She Corporate; KQ 0-2 Amus; UMHS 3-0 Asubo Ladies; Rines 0-0 Lady Doves.
