Manchester United edged Chelsea 1-0 in the Premier League on Saturday, taking a significant stride toward next season’s Champions League qualification.
Matheus Cunha netted the decisive goal in the 43rd minute, converting a precise cross from Bruno Fernandes with United’s inaugural shot on target. Chelsea mounted relentless pressure, striking the woodwork three times, but failed to equalize.
The triumph propelled United to 58 points, surpassing Aston Villa on 55 and Liverpool on 52. For Chelsea, it was their fourth consecutive league defeat without scoring, positioning them sixth, four points shy of the top five and 10 behind United.
