Police Arrest Six Nkoma SS Students for Robbing and Assaulting Mbale Pupil

Police in Mbale City, eastern Uganda, apprehended six Nkoma Secondary School students linked to the robbery and assault of Siraj Buyinza, a Senior Four pupil at Mbale Progressive Secondary School.

Elgon Region Police Spokesperson Rogers Taitika named the suspects as Abudu Kadiru, John Mwesigwa, James Nabigwa Opolot, Patrick Weboya, Edrine Magomu, and Brian Wadonyi, all from Nkoma SS.

The attack took place on Tuesday around 5 pm at Nabuyonga Rise in Kichafu Cell, Namakwekwe Ward, Northern City Division. The group, wielding a knife, targeted Buyinza while both parties—day scholars—were heading home from school.

They made off with his Infinix smartphone and Shs 20,000 in cash.

A video recorded by a bystander and shared online enabled Buyinza to identify the perpetrators, prompting their swift arrest. Investigations continue, according to police.
