Manchester City captain Bernardo Silva will depart the club at the end of the current season when his contract expires. The 31-year-old Portuguese midfielder joined from Monaco in 2017 and has since become a cornerstone of the team.

In 451 appearances, Silva netted 76 goals and provided 77 assists. His trophy cabinet boasts 15 major honours, including the 2022-23 Treble, the 100-point Premier League title in 2017-18, the domestic quadruple in 2018-19, and four straight league crowns from 2021 to 2024. Last month’s Carabao Cup win added to his legacy.

Appointed captain after Kevin de Bruyne’s exit last season, Silva ranks joint-eighth in the club’s all-time appearances, alongside Mike Summerbee—the only modern-era player in the top 10.

On Instagram, Silva reflected: ‘What we won and achieved together is a legacy that will forever be cherished in my heart. The Centurions, the domestic quadruple, the Treble, the four in a row and much more.’ He added his passion on the pitch aimed to make fans proud, signing off as a lifelong City supporter.

City sit second in the Premier League and face Southampton in the FA Cup semi-finals on April 25.
