A High Court session at the Ggaba crime scene saw Lady Justice Alice Komuhangi Khaukha admit a memorandum of agreed facts on the deaths of four preschoolers at Ggaba Childhood Development Centre.

The document, signed by Justice Khaukha, prosecutors, defense, and accused Christopher Okello Onyum—who denies the charges—details undisputed forensic evidence from four post-mortem reports by pathologist Abdul Katongole.

All victims died from hypovolemic shock due to severe neck wounds inflicted by a sharp-edged weapon. Gideon Eteku, aged 2, had his oesophagus, trachea, major blood vessels severed, and cervical spine fractured.

Keisha Agenrwot Atim (2), Ignatius Sseruyange (3), and Ryan Odeke suffered similarly deep cuts damaging vital vessels and muscles, causing fatal blood loss with smooth wound edges.

This agreement skips lengthy cross-examination of the pathologist, streamlining the trial. Justice Khaukha confirmed Onyum understood and signed it.

Three assessors—John Musana, Maria Teopista Kyobijja, and Racheal Ainomugisha—were sworn in. Prosecution is by Jonathan Muwaganya and Ann Kizza; defense by Richard Kumbuga and Sarah Awelo.

Further evidence on the deaths’ circumstances is expected next.
