Manchester City delivered a stunning second-half performance to defeat Chelsea 3-0 at Stamford Bridge, pulling within six points of Premier League leaders Arsenal while holding a game in hand.

The match turned decisively after a lacklustre first half where Chelsea appeared dominant. City exploded into action post-interval, exploiting Chelsea’s fragile defence.

Nico O’Reilly ignited the rout in the 51st minute, outmuscling Andrey Santos to head in a pinpoint cross from Rayan Cherki. Six minutes later, Cherki provided another assist, this time for ex-Chelsea man Marc Guehi, who slotted home into the bottom corner.

Jeremy Doku sealed the victory in the 68th minute, dispossessing Moises Caicedo outside the box and rifling a shot past goalkeeper Robert Sanchez.

Pep Guardiola praised his team’s second-half intensity, telling Sky Sports it was ‘a thousand times better’ than the first half. This win marks City’s first Premier League victory since February and follows their 2-0 League Cup final triumph over Arsenal last month, where O’Reilly scored both goals.

Jeremy Doku is confident ahead of next weekend’s home clash with Arsenal, who lost to Bournemouth on Saturday and face Sporting in the Champions League midweek. ‘They will come with hunger… we have to go and take it,’ Doku said.

The result hampers Chelsea’s top-five push, leaving them sixth and four points behind Liverpool.
