Rezlife Saints Snap City Oilers' Unbeaten Streak in NBL Thriller

Rezlife Saints handed City Oilers their first loss of the season, winning 62-48 in a tightly contested National Basketball League match at Lugogo Indoor Stadium on Friday night.
Edrine Ekau dominated for the Saints, scoring a game-high 25 points alongside eight rebounds and four assists. The game remained close through three quarters, tied at 46-46 entering the final frame.
Rezlife pulled away with a decisive 16-0 run in the fourth, holding Oilers to just two points. Micheal Otieno added a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds, while Hon Kwany chipped in 11 points.
For City Oilers, Joel Kayiira and Malual Dier each posted double-doubles and 10 points respectively, but no other players reached double figures.
In the earlier game, defending champions Namuwongo Blazers crushed JT Jaguars 82-62. Fataki Nyembo led with 19 points, followed by Ivan Muhwezi’s 16, improving Blazers’ record to 10-1 after an opening loss.
Oilers face UCU Canons next, while Rezlife meets JT Jaguars to close the first round.
