Stanbic Black Pirates stand as Uganda’s sole survivor in the 2026 Enterprise Cup after Heathens, Kobs, and Buffaloes exited in the quarterfinals. This Saturday, they host Kenya’s Nondescripts at Kings Park in Bweyogerere, carrying the nation’s hopes into the semifinals.
Pirates scraped through their quarterfinal with an 11-10 victory against KCB, showcasing strong defense under pressure. Nondescripts, with 25 Cup titles, proved their mettle by defeating Kobs 29-13 in Nakuru, converting limited possession into four tries.
Head coach Marvin Odong views the match as a key learning opportunity following the KCB clash. He highlighted exposure to varied rugby styles, tempo, and intensity as beneficial. Odong plans no major tactical shifts, noting similarities in physicality to KCB, but anticipates more kicking from Nondies.
“Rugby is rugby,” Odong said, adding that his team must prepare for Nondescripts’ tactical kicks and tackling efficiency. Home advantage at Kings Park, after a venue change from Wankulukuku, should boost Pirates.
The other semifinal pits Kabras Sugar against Menengai Oilers in an all-Kenyan matchup at Kakamega ASK Showground, both kicking off at 4pm.
