Makerere University students voted on Thursday in a fiercely competitive guild election to choose their new representatives.
National Unity Platform candidate Kadondi Gracious emerged victorious as Guild President, clinching more than 6,800 votes. Hannah Karema, known as a former Miss Uganda, finished in second place.
Karema quickly conceded the results, affirming her commitment to partner with the incoming team for student welfare. ‘The students have spoken, and I respect their voice. I will work with the new leadership to advocate for the needs of the students,’ she stated.
Reports indicate Karema is eyeing a national political role in 2031, targeting a position in Nakaseke District.
