Andy Robertson, the Scotland national team captain, has officially announced his exit from Liverpool after nine years with the club. The 32-year-old defender joined the Reds from Hull City in 2017 for £8 million.

During his time at Anfield, Robertson featured in 373 matches, netting 13 goals and delivering 69 assists. His trophy cabinet boasts two Premier League titles, a Champions League crown, an FA Cup, two League Cups, the FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, and Community Shield.

Reflecting on his journey, Robertson shared an emotional statement on Liverpool’s Instagram: ‘It’s never easy leaving a club like Liverpool… This club will always mean the world to me, the fans will mean the world to me. It has been a hell of a journey.’

This development follows last month’s news that star forward Mohamed Salah will also leave Anfield at season’s end. Liverpool currently sit fifth in the Premier League with 49 points from 31 games, preparing to face Fulham on Saturday.
